A committed team, held back by the wrong tools.
Clanmil Housing Association exists to deliver safe, secure and affordable homes with integrity and excellence. What the team lacked was a system suited to the way an Irish AHB needs to work.
Their previous UK-based housing system was difficult to use and did not reflect everyday Irish housing workflows. Staff regularly fell back on Excel to track voids, arrears and important tenant information.
Correcting a simple mistake could become a manual accounting exercise. If a payment was added to the wrong tenant account, the team had to create a journal correction that showed money going in and then coming back out again. It was confusing for staff and tenants alike.
Arrears tracking created another blind spot. There was no straightforward way to record the history of actions such as whether Arrears Letter 1 or 2 had been sent, leaving the team without the clear activity trail that effective housing management and reporting demand.
A user-friendly system that could handle core AHB tasks simply and efficiently.
of being introduced to Affinity, Clanmil staff were navigating the system confidently.
Useful from the start.
Clanmil were initially sceptical when told the system was user-friendly and would not require training. That changed quickly once their team began using Affinity.
Instead of bending their working practices around software designed for a different market, staff found workflows built around the realities of Irish housing management.
Connected information. Clearer decisions.
One property view
At a click, the team can see work orders, tenant balances and the wider context around each home without digging through separate files.
Reporting they trust
Where Clanmil previously had little confidence in the data they produced, the team can now rely on it completely.
Simpler corrections
When something needs correcting, it no longer requires a laborious manual process—saving time and headspace.
Stop considering and just go for it. I promise you won’t regret it.
